There are 25 trommel machines at the Ghazipur landfill site, out of which, as per our information, 13 are faulty, leading to a halt in waste disposal activities - *Raja Iqbal Singh*

The Arvind Kejriwal government has always indulged in political rhetoric at landfill sites without doing any work - *Delhi BJP Media Head*

The heap of garbage catching fire caused the boundary wall on the Murga Mandi side of the Ghazipur landfill site to collapse during the day, and around 11 o'clock, the fire intensified towards Rajveer Colony - *Mayur Vihar District BJP President*

New Delhi,Delhi BJP President Shri Virendra Sachdeva, along with opposition leader Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh and Delhi BJP's media head Shri Praveen Shankar Kapoor, visited the Ghazipur landfill site this morning, where a fire broke out yesterday evening, causing a significant increase in air pollution in the surrounding areas.

Mayur Vihar District BJP President Shri Vijendra Dhama, councilor Shri Sanjeev Singh, and many activists also reached the Ghazipur landfill site and raised the issue of the fire at the site.

On this occasion, Shri Virendra Sachdeva, while talking to journalists, said that the people of Delhi have continuously witnessed and heard the Arvind Kejriwal government and party speaking about the Ghazipur landfill site from 2017 to 2022. Once, the Chief Minister even inspected the landfill site with a red carpet and announced that the people of Delhi will give us the power of the Delhi Municipal Corporation - *we have a plan policy, we will clean not only the Ghazipur landfill site but also the Bhalswa and Okhla landfill sites by December 31, 2023.*

Yesterday evening, around 5:30, smoke was seen rising from the Ghazipur landfill site. Delhi BJP informed media and warned of a major accident by 6 pm but the Kejriwal-led Delhi government and the Municipal Corporation turned a deaf ear.

Shri Sachdeva said that everyone knows that there is pressure from various gases at the landfill site, even a small fire spreads significant air pollution, but the Delhi government, the Delhi Municipal Corporation did not even get the landfill site cleaned despite big announcements before 2022 - instead, they have allowed creation of a third new heap of garbage there.

*Yesterday evening, when the fire and smoke rose at the Ghazipur landfill site, there was no arrangement to fight the fire -- the first fire brigade arrived almost an hour later.*

Even the fire brigade that came did not have equipment to fight the gas fire, and as a result, the entire environment became suffocating.

Shri Sachdeva said that we are standing here after almost 16 hours today -- the fire and smoke are still rising.

*It is regrettable that the Mayor of Delhi and the Environment Minister or any big-mouthed minister did not consider it necessary to come here.*

Yesterday's accident is a result of the criminal negligence of the Arvind Kejriwal-led Delhi Municipal Corporation.

Delhi BJP demands that the Delhi government clarify who is responsible for yesterday's accident -- *why was there no arrangement to fight the fire caused by gas?*

Opposition leader Sardar Raja Iqbal Singh in the Delhi Municipal Corporation said that there are 25 trommel machines at the Ghazipur landfill site, out of which, as per our information, 13 are faulty, leading to a halt in waste disposal activities.

Delhi BJP's media head Shri Praveen Shankar Kapoor said that the Arvind Kejriwal government, the Municipal Corporation, and the party accepted that before 2022, they used to indulge in empty political rhetoric at Ghazipur and other landfill sites, and upon coming to power, they did no work.

According to Mayur Vihar District BJP President Shri Vijendra Dhama, the collapse of the boundary wall on the Murga Mandi side of the Ghazipur landfill site and the fire intensified towards Rajveer Colony around 11 o'clock when the garbage heap shook & moved during the day.
