✵ Six motor vehicle (MV) theft cases have been solved, with the recovery of six stolen vehicles from their possession.

✵ The accused used to steal parked two-wheelers for use in committing further crimes and later sold them.

✵ They began engaging in criminal activities to earn quick money in order to sustain their addiction to drugs and alcohol.

✵ Accused Salman @ Salim Khan @ Chotu @ Rahul, son of Tasaduk Khan, has 42 previous involvements in cases of theft, house theft, snatching, robbery, and Arms Act.

✵ Accused Akram Khan, son of Aslam Khan, has 18 previous involvements of theft cases and is also a BC of Police Station Jamia Nagar.

✵ Accused Dharmender @ John, son of Shiv Kumar, has 2 previous involvements of theft cases.

     With the arrest of three habitual auto-lifters—

1. Salman @ Salim Khan @ Chotu @ Rahul, son of Tasaduk Khan, resident of E Block, Jahangirpuri, Delhi, age 35 years

2. Akram Khan, son of Aslam Khan, resident of S/10/14, Joga Bai Extension, Jamia Nagar, Delhi, age 39 years

3. Dharmender @ John, son of Shiv Kumar, resident of 645 T Huts, K Block, Jahangirpuri, Delhi, age 35 years

The AATS team of North-West District successfully solved six motor vehicle theft (MVT) cases and recovered six stolen vehicles from their possession.

The accused admitted of committing these crimes to earn easy money in order to sustain their addiction to drugs and alcohol.

• Accused Salman @ Salim Khan @ Chotu @ Rahul has 42 previous involvements in cases of theft, house theft, snatching, robbery, and Arms Act.

• Accused Akram Khan has 18 previous involvements of theft cases and is a Bad Character (BC) of Police Station Jamia Nagar.

• Accused Dharmender @ John has 02 previous involvements in theft cases.

The accused primarily targeted parked two-wheelers, which they used to commit further crimes and later sold them for profit.

Brief Facts & Incident Details:-

It is submitted that on May 19, 2025, acting on a tip-off, the AATS/North-West team apprehended a notorious auto-lifter, Salman @ Salim Khan @ Chotu @ Rahul, son of Tasaduk Khan, resident of E Block, Jahangirpuri, Delhi, aged 35 years. He was caught in possession of a stolen Hyundai i20 car near Sheesh Mahal Park, Haiderpur Nahar, Shalimar Bagh, Delhi.

Based on his disclosure, two other known auto-lifters were arrested:

• Akram Khan, son of Aslam Khan, resident of S/10/14, Joga Bai Extension, Jamia Nagar, Delhi, aged 39 years

• Dharmender @ John, son of Shiv Kumar, resident of 645 T Huts, K Block, Jahangirpuri, Delhi, aged 35 years

During sustained interrogation, Salman revealed that they were targeting easily accessible vehicles to commit theft. Verification of the recovered white Hyundai i20 bearing registration number DL8CAR62220, Engine No. 18349, and Chassis No. 25683 confirmed it to be stolen as per E-FIR No. 037909/2024 dated 08/12/2024, under sections 305(b)/317(2) BNS, registered at PS Subhash Place, New Delhi.

At his instance, five additional stolen vehicles were recovered, which were found to be linked to theft cases reported in the jurisdictions of PS Jamia Nagar, PS Shakurpur, PS North Rohini, PS Rajouri Garden, and PS Model Town.

Further efforts are underway to establish their involvement in other criminal cases.

3. Accused Dharmender @ John, son of Shiv Kumar, has two previous involvements of theft cases.
